With expanded processing capacity at Goulburn Valley Creamery’s Kyabram facility, the company is on the hunt for new farmer partners to supply high quality raw milk.
Dairy field services officer, Jeff Shannon, says he is seeking quality, continuous milk supply from across the Goulburn Valley region.
“We are looking for milk from conventional production systems.
“Our markets are expanding, with strong international demand for high quality Australian grass-fed milk.
“Local dairy farmers are key to helping us meet this interest from overseas.”
The company’s newly built processing facility at Kyabram makes fresh and frozen milk concentrates, extended shelf life milks and cream products for export markets. It currently processes 100 million litres of milk annually.
“We’re happy to discuss options with any regionally based dairy farm operation, including supply details and terms which we try to be flexible about,” Jeff says.
“No two farming operations are the same, so it makes sense that we work with each one individually to set up an arrangement that suits everyone.
“Our goal is to make sure that communication with us is easy and direct across all levels of our business. Farmers deal directly with us locally – we’re all based in the region, around Kyabram.
“The idea is to be simple to deal with and to build valued long-term relationships.”
